WRONG NUMBER
Wrong Number, by Roozbeh Moayyedian. Effective October 8, 2026.
The short version: Wrong Number has no accounts and no sign-up, and I don't run any servers that receive your information. The calls are pretend: they're made on your iPhone, by your iPhone. Nothing about you is collected.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE
The app remembers your phone's colour, the day you installed it (that's the serial number), how many calls you've answered, which callers have already said what and the call that's waiting for you. These are stored only on your iPhone and are deleted if you delete the app. They're never sent to me.
THE CALLS
The calls aren't real phone calls. Wrong Number never makes or receives calls, never uses your phone number, contacts or microphone, and never sends or receives messages. Each call is a local notification that the app books on your iPhone, at a random time; nothing about it goes through a server.
The callers' voices are synthesized on your iPhone, and the subtitles come with the app. Nothing you say or do during a call is recorded.
THE HINGE
On iPhone Duo the app reads the hinge angle, because opening and closing the phone is how you answer and hang up. It's used instantly on your iPhone, never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
YOUR CHOICES
- Turn notifications off and calls only ring while the app is open.
CHILDREN
Wrong Number is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
